Getting ready to watch The Shins livestreaming on Google TV at the Bonnaroo music festival. Gotta say the picture quality is top-notch.

I don't see this working out so well...
For those outside the Bay Area La Boulange is a small bakery that has expanded to dozens of locations in the Bay Area. Their coffee is generally better than Starbucks and they offer casual dining with a french theme.
Wonder if they'll keep the free cornichon in the condiments counter?

Upgraded to Fedora 17 "Beefy Miracle" in-place on the same image I've had since Redhat 6.2. It was a little more challenging than some upgrades due to moving everything into /usr, but overall it's working well.
And the origin of the name is pretty interesting, check it out:
Central Kitchen looks like a great new deli and restaurant in the inner mission. The renovated warehouse space is done really well.
Picked up some Flour+Water dried pasta. Anyone tried it out?
Dear Alameda County Judge candidates,
Skirting the California law outlawing robo-calls by using an out of state vendor does not make me want to vote for you.
Here's a pop song from Switzerland to get your morning moving.
Fedora has always had odd names, but Beefy Miracle ventures into Ubuntu territory...

Sad to see that the old Schmidt brewery in St. Paul is using snake-oil techniques to sell well water.

- 100 days before Burning Man, gotta prepare for the Playa
- Lady Gaga now works in our building
- New Google bikes are even more theft-deterrent (see how it's not even locked to anything?)
I wasn't expecting LinkedIn to show up here. They have a resourceful blog and they hold some great events. I'll be interested in seeing what they end up doing here.
Note to my former LinkedIn colleagues -- verify your site by following the directions here:

You can even put the rel="publisher" link in the head. No visible link required! Also contact me off-list about getting name verified.

Django is more than just a web framework.
Discovered these guys on Couleur3 yesterday. If you like retro synth and guitars you'll like this. New album can be found at http://
Thought I'd add some variety to my commute so I'm listening to Couleur3 again on TuneIn. Sort of like the Suisse version of KEXP or The Current they're publicly funded and play an interesting mix of music.
Here's a fun visualization I made last year for the Apache Shindig project using Gource. Learn how to make your own at http://
Here's a blast from the past. I wonder if the Google lawyers would let us slip a T-Shirt clause into the next version of the Google terms of service?
[FYI - I'm finally migrating my youtube videos from an old google account to match the account I use for Google+. I recommend you do the same, it's just so much better to have the two accounts linked together...]
This is a great little slice of history from the early 90s. Reminds me of the times I saw BiT perform in the 7th Street Entry back in Minneapolis. And it was satisfying to hear them on his show back then too.

The new version of this great android app now works on Google TV.
Maybe this is why I like standing desks so much? All those quarters spent on Defender were really just preparing me for a professional career :)
Thanks for adding me back, fun times over here in Google+ land.
Lots of great stuff here. Dan Wilson performing Semisonic classics, new solo stuff, commercial jingles with Fred Willard and a great version of the song he wrote for Adele - Someone Like You.

I was always a fan of John Peel. Now you can follow the John Peel Archive on Google+.
This is truly frightening. The mailing list for my neighborhood has already seen spam from 8 hijacked accounts.
Yahoo has two-factor auth now -- everyone should go out and activate it.

Milk bottles are great, except for the drips when you pour. The folks at Chow restaurant came up with a bottle top that fixes this annoying problem. Just ask, they'll sell you one for a dollar.
They really should sell this online, I was unable to find anything comparable.
I don't comment on ongoing legal issues with my employer. However I think we can all agree that this is one awful sketch artist.
A great deal @$3.99 for people in the US. Although I must say I like the original Hanging on the Telephone by The Nerves just as much:
The Nerves - Hanging On The Telephone, Original version 45, Blondie. 1976.
Minnesota Public Radio is doing some inventive stuff. They have a great alternative music station in The Current and they're running this great Music/Comedy series called Wits. Check out the segment below for a taste.
You can see all three stages here. Check it out.
A damn fine first post on Google+

One of the best things about aging another year is receiving interesting new midwestern music birthday presents. This includes a CD from Red Pens out of Minneapolis.
Also gotta love the 8-bit flair on the Grain Belt Records site!
Do you have a Panoramio account?
Consider adding a link your Google+ profile here http://
Then add your Panoramio account to your Google+ profile (in the Other Profiles section). When linked both ways it will enable people in your circles to find your Panoramio content in personalized search.

We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t.
A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment. We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do.

Some more La Roux to start out your Wednesday. I didn't think the Kanye remix added much, but the rest are deserving of the word Gold.
