Help your friends find you! - another Google+ tip...

Add and verify all of your email addresses to your Google Account here:

https://plus.google.com/settings/general

This makes it easier for your friends to find you now and in the future! I've found that I don't know the gmail address of many people, but I do know their corp email or another alias. Plus if you lose your password you can send a recovery email to your alternate address.

Be aware that you can only associate one email per Google account and you can't add another gmail address to another account. If you want to associate email addresses to your primary account you can visit this page:

https://www.google.com/accounts/EditUserInfo

1) If the email is listed as a secondary address, remove it on the old account and add to the primary.

2) If the email is primary you can change the email address of the unused account and replace it with something like username+unused@gmail.com. Then add the renamed email to the primary account.

Clicking on that settings/general link doesn't work for me, something is rewriting it to [https://plus.google.com/settings/posts?tab=XX]. Copying the url does work.

I get a 404 profile not found.

I got profile not found, as well, but then after I'd clicked through to another few pages, I tried again and actually get my settings page now. I was definitely signed in before, so that was odd. Just figured I'd mention in case that helps troubleshoot!

Yeah, Profile Not Found for me. I was able to find a page that let me add email addresses, but I had to navigate to it manually.

Honestly, the fact that I can't use this to point people to the real Google+ account is a bit problematic. I have quite a few Google accounts, many of which are going to show up in auto-complete for people. If someone auto-completes the wrong one, they'll get +**** in their post and I won't actually see the notification.

aha... you have to use non Google+ settings for some of these operations.

I'm going to have to rewrite these instructions. You need a witches brew of incognito mode and multiple browsers to get this stuff to work sadly.

@ Luigi, One of my friends faced the same avatar picture not updating problem, I advised him to change teh picture he had assigned to google talk profile. then hte changed that to the one he wanted in Google+ and presto !! the problem was solved.
