Happy Bastille Day! What's your favorite part of French culture?

I'd like to revive a great feature from the Vox blogging platform -- the question of the day. It was a great way to overcome writers block and meet like-minded people. And it's a lot of fun!

I was just at Mount Vernon yesterday and saw the key to the Bastille hanging on the wall. Apparently, it was given to Washington by Lafayette!

Does the # work for searching on Google+? Apparently it does, otherwise you wouldn't have told us to use it. But it only works for public posts? And comments? Can I #Vox on posts that I make for my circles and then people in my circles who search for that # can see the posts? So many questions... :-)

But to answer your QoTD, my favorite French cultural thing is outdoor cafes and wine/champagne drinking in the afternoon. Oh, and inventing the best kind of kisses is another invaluable contribution to society from the French.
