That rate is sure not going to help small business in the City. The issue of parking is a hot one, is it a tax, service or is it a fine? And, what margin over cost should cities be allowed to extract from the public for their stated mission of "facilitating the orderly flow of vehicles in an our of retail areas". Somehow $50-100 tickets for missing a few minutes does not seem proportionate to the cost or offense - IMO improving this issue could really help small businesses EVERYWHERE

Parking cost is demand based on all new meters. Combined with real time information about demand I think that'll be great for small business because people who want to park and can pay will be able to.

Parking prices are incrementally raised or lowered in SFpark pilot areas based on demand. Rates change no more than once a month and only in small increments.

I guess this makes sense at a macro-level. Would be nice if things fluctuated based on real-time demand though!
