It's the time to reflect on the past year.  I found this article quite interesting, especially when you contrast it with this Wired article from 1993:

Interesting. And I don't wholly disagree with him at this point in time.

As time goes on the number of things Lanier is taking credit for seems to be increasing. I'd love to see him interviewed by a journalist who actually understands these topics and doesn't just become part of Lanier's hype machine.
