I think part of the YT problem is one of perception that reminds of the early days of Gmail. Remember when you 'put' messages in 'folders'? That's what people think of when they post. Instead you have 'Content' that is created that has certain attributes.
When you have content with attributes you can use search to surface it, rank it, and filter it.
So my minor suggestion for Youtube comments is to add a really simple thing: Add _Searching for Comments..._ to the loading indicator.

Paging absentee Google-owned Youtube channel owners -- time to start policing your comments. If you're not going to moderate *and engage* just disable comments. Otherwise while you're away the partying teens will trash the place.
For sport and old-times-sake I spent time reporting porn/abuse/spam on popular videos and Google-owned channels. I saw the usual hideous garbage in "Newest First", but what I didn't see was any engagement from the channel owners.
So to repeat, own your channels. Moderate and engage. Moderate and engage. *Moderate and engage*.

Even if you can't get them in your area you can admire their fine food photography. This attention to detail pervades the rest of the experience, including thoughtful packaging, high quality ingredients, and artful presentation. Highly recommended.

Bottom box is 2ft ^3 -- toilet paper/paper towels.
Middle boxes contained misc things from other stores.
Top-one is 14" ^3 -- It contained a 4-pack of cucumber soda and enough bubble wrap to float a boat.

I can't say exactly how their score could have ever been 12,000. It's possible that at one time they were linked to some authority URL that was also linked to by another more popular +Page. (Yes, verified URL +Page mappings are many:many, and I hate this "feature.") At any rate, 12,000 would be well above the "normal" score for a page with only 700 followers (although I suppose it's feasible).

280 North from a trailer's windows (wipers)? That looks like a bridge/overpass. Below is a (red) traffic light I think. Given there aren't any other cars, it probably isn't the Bay Bridge. Also there is a section on 280N where it conjoins/merges. The large pillar indicates the lower deck, which is north bound. I'm still confused about the direction of the windows, unless they are side windows with wipers. If I was at a computer, I guess I could download the image and look at the geo meta data too... Edit: given the distance from the overpass/bridge, maybe this is from a parking garage or nearby hill?

Those are multiple cellular data dongles, mounted on the bus windshield, and all feeding into a combined, high-bandwidth wifi hotspot on the bus.
The photo size seems to be slightly cropped and zoom used. The orientation relative to the road suggests this is facing forwards and the lack of a driver in the photo indicates a large windscreen, maybe a coach/bus where he/she is sitting lower relative to the passengers?
As to the rectangular boxes... looks like they were stuck on with adhesive, as the right hand side ones looks like they're becoming badly unstuck! They also look electrical as they're all connected up with what appears to be wiring. Maybe those electronic LED signs showing locations, perhaps destinations?
Vitor Rodrigues and Christiaan Adams got it right! You see 14 3G/4G usb data dongles connected to a wifi access point inside a bus. Now you can truly underestimate the bandwidth of a bus full of tapes (and usb sticks).

Yep, very true... but I'm still of the mindset that Oakland needs all the income it can get, and if the price of that is an increase in rents, well...
