I'm reading _Tog on Design_ (1996) since it contains so many eerily accurate predictions mixed in with some totally wrong ones.
Who knew there was a advertising company devoted to DMV signage. .
Liked the upcoming event UI treatment. Ads were okay. Postmates and auto collision shops.

Confession time: I grew up in poor rural MN but was able to attend two fully-sponsored summer Science camps. It changed my life.
At one I got to make holograms, perform blood spatter analysis and write Apple II games.
Another one was sponsored by our Rural Electric Coop where I managed to get an extensive tour of a coal fired power plant and learned all about electricity.

I see dead screens...
When I walk into the office I see row after row of screens, empty and lonely. I want to change that. I want a world where ambient passive consumption helps eliminate the blank screen.
Solving one piece of this puzzle is Malika's intern project. It starts with rich, compelling, G+ Android Daydream support. If time allows we may be able to add interesting things like:
* Interactive hooks, voice action (Choose your own adventure!)
* Whisper/Copresence support
* Kiosk mode, add QR codes or NFC support
* Vendor support,
* Rich Video/Audio

For a company born on the web we sure do an awful job marking up our sites with relevant data.
Almost all of the images on the new Sidewalk Labs site are transparent (see below). There is no schema.org, opengraph or other semantic markup.
I hate to add another step to launchcal, but cmon, this is embarrassing. The fix is easy:
- Save page as HTML in Chrome.
- Put page (and linked assets in some secret, yet public web site)
- Preview this on G+, Facebook, and Twitter at the very least.
- Use Webmaster Tools / Search Console to make sure that search knows about your domain and use tools within.

So what are people using to get photos in from old-school cameras?
The Eye-Fi X2 is now basically useless for this:
- They used oauth 1 for their "PICASAWEB" upload feature. This is now broken.
- They used iPhoto APIs to upload photos. The new Apple Photos App doesn't have integration hooks, so again, nothing.
Their new offerings only upload to their own cloud, so I'm left with useless hardware. Yay progress.
